Long Way From Home

Packed his bag, he was leaving home
Stuck out his thumb and he hit the road
On his way to the city of dreams to find luck, or so it seemed
Swopped the soil and the southern skies for the rumble and concrete piles,
the parks busses and airplanes, the car alarms and liquor chains

Long Way From Home
Far Away And All Alone

He was wild, braving and free – moved from the country to pursue his dreams
Followed the buzz ’till he hit the hive
Set his sights on the city lights,
the brightly colored glow of night, illuminated by the neon signs
Fascinated by the foreign and strange, he was in search of a drastic change

Long Way From Home
Far Away And All Alone

It tormented his soul,
he was stuck in a hole so he spread the confines of his wings
He left it behind, the weather-beaten signs,
the evergreens and lush mountain sides
Wild eyed, braving and free, he was in search of possibility
Fascinated by the foreign and strange, he was in need of optimistic change

Go on and spread your wings
